    • Turtles are currently at risk of global extinction because of the high demand for their meat for soup and their shells for traditional Chinese medicine.

    • Sea turtle are eaten regularly like other turtles, but many are also killed accidently in fishing nets.

    • In 1987 India banned the exportation of frog legs because densities of insect pests increase dramatically in agricultural areas where frog numbers had declined
